Back in the Game

Good morning lovlies! I’m so sorry I’ve been off the radar forever! I cannot believe how incredibly swamped I’ve been with school, work, running, and the many events of senior year.

In fact, I’ve been so swamped with my life that, in order to keep a balance in my life, I had to quit my job. *Sad face*

No, I’m not a quitter, for all y’all meanies out there.

When it comes to life, my philosophy is that priorities should always be:

  1. You
  2. Your family
  3. Your relationships with others
  4. Your responsibilities (whether that be school, work, etc.)

For me, if one begins to disrupt a part of my life that’s higher up on the list, it’s time to do some prioritizing.

So I did.

Sorry, job, my grades and my sanity are a bit more important than you 😉

In honor of my prioritizing, I also took some time to re-organize my desk space, newly dubbed “The Office”.

Before:

Ahhh! Messy mess = messy head. If my workspace is cluttered, so is my noggin.

And with a wave of my magic wand…

After:

IMG_2906 Ahhh, much better 🙂

Unfortunately, I also came down with a terrible stomach illness Monday night that’s been going around my school – gladly, no puking over here!

The thought not only terrifies me, but also is just nasty. I avoid it at every and all costs.

I hated missing school (hello, make-up work!), but I needed the rest.

I was sure to eat nutritious food, drink some ginger tea, and watch some juicy talk shows – including The Doctors.

Have you ever seen this show? I was surprised that I kind of liked it!

I was expecting some hokey, mainstream show but they actually gave some really great advice, like writing down 5 things that make you truly happy (smile!) and thinking about them every day.

Here’s my 5:

  • Spending time with people I love
  • Cooking something beautiful
  • Making others smile
  • Learning about things that interest me
  • The “wow” feeling I sometimes get when I realize how much I’m capable of

What’s your 5?

That’s all until lunch, lovies! I’m gonna have to get y’all caught up with my life in a series of posts, as it appears – I have so much to say! Including the aforementioned recipes.

It’s time for my morning run, so see you later! Enjoy the rest of your morning 🙂

  2. I totally understand why you’d wanna quit your job! I’ve been just as busy as you and it sucks. And I’m about to add theater on top of it, haha.

Aw I love the happy 5 list! Mine are:
    – spending time with my best friends
    – discovering a new talent
    – cooking or baking anything
    – getting everything on my to-do list done early
    – rest days filled with tea, books, and bubble baths

I probably have a better list in my brain somewhere but that’s all I can come up with for now! Have a great day girl.

  3. Quitting your job is totally understandable. I was completely stressed out last semester of college with working, interning and being a full time student. My body definitely suffered. I quit my job now because I realize that I can’t do everything and that’s okay.

    My 5:

-Spending time with the ones I love
    -Cooking & baking
    -Running, especially outdoors
    -NYC
    – & Accomplishing goals

    • Thanks so much! 🙂 My body suffered as well. You’re super busy, dang! Quite the balancing act 😉

Running is the thing I should probably add to my list – so peaceful, especially first thing in the morning.

  4. Your office area is sooo cute! I like your blog!:)

    • Awe I’ll be thinking of you too, fellow full-time swamp-ee! Yes, same – especially baking for others! I’ve found that sweets are the way to people’s good sides 😉 Haha.

And I did! So sore, but your morning motivation got me out there! Glad to have you there girl 🙂 xoxox
